DRESS CODE
  • Be sure to put your name on all articles of clothing, shoes, etc.  We are not responsible for lost or stolen items.
  • Keep all jewelry to a minimum.
  • No street clothes.

                                    *
BALLET & POINTE: Solid color leotard, pink tights, pink split sole ballet shoes Hair must be in a bun.
                                    *
LYRICAL / CONTEMPORARY: Leotard, tights, and beige lyrical shoes.  Hot shorts are optional.
                                    *
TAP / JAZZ: Leotard or dance top, tights or dance pants/shorts, black tap/jazz shoes.  Hair secured out of face.
                                    *
TUMBLING: Leotard or dance top, tights or dance pants/shorts, biketard, white tumbling shoes.  Hair in ponytail or braids.
                                    *
MUSICAL THEATER: Leotard or dance top, tights or dance pants/shorts, character shoes. Hair secured out of face.
                                    *
COMBINATION 3/4: Any color leotard, tights, pink ballet shoes, black tap shoes, and a bag.  
                                    *
COMBINATION 5/6: Any color leotard, tights, pink ballet shoes, black tap shoes, and black jazz shoes.  
                                    *
HIP HOP / BREAKING: Any loose dance clothes, hip-hop sneakers or new, clean white tennis shoes.
                                    *
BOYS: Black jazz pants or shorts, tucked in white t-shirt.
CLASS PLACEMENT
  • Combination Class 3/4 consists of Tap, Ballet, and Tumbling.
  • Combination Class 5/6 consists of Tap, Ballet, and Jazz.
  • Please note: Each class must have at least five (5) students enrolled, or it is subject to cancellation.  
  • Teachers are sole judges as to the classification of students.  If you are unsure of the level, please ask a staff member for suggestions.

OBSERVATION

  • We offer parents and guardians the convenience of observing class through the classroom observation window.  
            - However, we encourage you to stand away from the viewing window since it tends to distract the students in class.  The observation window may be closed at anytime.

  • Generally, observation in Studio F will not be permitted.  Please drop off your students and wait in the general lobby area in Studio K unless directed by the teacher.  

If at any point in time, you feel out of touch with the progress of your child, please schedule a convenient time to talk with your child’s instructor.  
We are very willing to discuss the direction of your child’s progress.  

ABSENCES
Students are encouraged not to be late or absent.  
Classes attendance is always imperative for the students’ progress.

  • If your child will not be able to attend his/her scheduled class, please contact the studio office (859/746-8009) and leave a message or inform the class instructor in advance.
  • Missed classes may be made up within 14 days.  The staff will help you select the appropriate class.
  • Classes may not be made up from February through May due to preparation for the year-end performance.
  • Please refer to the All Stars team information packet for absences regarding the ballet requirement.   
  • Excessive absence from weekly classes may require a student to be moved to a lower level class.  
  • NO REFUNDS OR CREDITS WILL BE GRANTED FOR MISSED LESSONS OR FOR LESSONS DROPPED DURING A CURRENT MONTH.

A Parent/Guardian’s Responsibilities
                                                                       
  • Get your child prepared and to class on time each week since regular attendance and dress code are necessary to ensure good training.
  • Keep up-to-date on all studio activities and information through our website or Facebook!
  • Inform the studio of any changes in personal information.
  • Be prompt in picking up your child after class.
  • No outside shoes on the dance floor.
  • Encourage practice at home.
  • Supervise siblings by keeping them safe and controlled at all times.
  • Be respectful of other parents and students in the lobby area.
  • Pay accounts on time.
  • Avoid being a gossip to spread misinformation.  
  • Do not compare your child to other dancers or discuss comparisons with other parents.
  • Be knowledgeable of the student rules enforced and review them with your child.

Student Rules of Conduct

  • You are NOT permitted to be in the dance or tumbling rooms without teacher supervision.  
  • Put your name on all articles of clothing, shoes, etc.  We are not responsible for lost or stolen items.
  • Arrive to class on time.     
  • Adhere to the dress code.
  • Do not put hands on the mirrors.
  • Do not hang on ballet barres.  
  • Be positive and go into each class with a “can do” attitude.
  • You are expected to participate and give 100% while in dance class.
  • Make sure you use the restroom before coming to class (especially young ones).  
  • NO TOYS or playthings in dance bags.
  • Only water is permitted in the classrooms.  No food or drinks.
  • Place all your belongings on the designated shelves or hang them on the pegs provided.
  • Telephone is to be used for emergencies only.
  • Respect the art of dance, your teachers, and fellow dancers.
  • All children are to be supervised at all times including waiting rooms.
  • No playing on furniture or running in hallways or classrooms.
  • You must wait inside the building for your parent or guardian during drop off or pick up.
  • Please help keep the studio clean and make sure you clean up after yourself at all times.
